On this page we provided a selection of documentary sources (white-papers) on the history and role of referendums and direct democracy in Denmark. The sources are available in full text and can be downloaded right away.

Note: The first two publications (Andersson and Ross) were written almost half a century ago. The next two publications by Bogdanor and Svensson were produced in the mid 90s. Thus, they neither discuss the Amsterdam-referendum (1998) nor the Euro-referendum (2000). However, we provide a brief update on these referendums in the text.
